Odalys Díaz Piñeiro, PhD (New York City) currently serves as assistant to the president and director of special projects at Eugenio María de Hostos Community College. Díaz Piñeiro advances projects of priority to the president, one of which is the development of a new academic program leading to an associate degree in food studies, which the college anticipates launching in 2015-2016. This will be the first such program in the United States offered to students living in neighborhoods most negatively impacted by current imbalances in the food system and least represented in leadership positions within the industry.
