Omar Stanton is the director of performance management and strategy for The New Orleans Business Alliance (NOLABA), a public-private partnership that provides a single point of entry for business attraction and retention, small business growth, talent and workforce development, and place-based economic development in New Orleans. Under Omar’s leadership, NOLABA implemented a performance and accountability system that drives internal performance and focuses on equitable economic outcomes for the people of New Orleans. Previously, Omar served as senior project manager of Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s Innovation Delivery Team, managing the Mayor’s Economic Opportunity Strategy and supporting the NOLA for Life campaign. There, he utilized Bloomberg’s Delivery Model and diverse program and project management experience to oversee a portfolio of projects and initiatives that connected disadvantaged jobseekers and businesses to new opportunities. This resulted in more than 890 New Orleanians connecting to employment and a 4 percent reduction in African American Male non-employment. Omar holds a B.A. in visual arts from Dillard University, an MBA in human resources management from Baker College, and a Master of Science in strategic management from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is also a certified project management professional and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
Omar Stanton is a member of the New Orleans Workforce Leadership Academy, Class of 2019, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
