Director of Youth Service Corps, Our Piece of the Pie, Inc., Hartford, CT

Sam DeCarlo is currently the Director of Youth Service Corps at Our Piece of the Pie (OPP). Sam has worked at OPP for ten years in workforce development. He has overseen the Pathways to Careers Initiative, Hartford’s largest annual Summer Youth Employment and Learning program, serving more than 500 youth, and a year-round program providing work training and for in-school youth at Hartford Public School’s Journalism and Media Academy (JMA).

Sam is an active board member of the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Central Connecticut State University. When he is not working for the youth of Hartford, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.

Sam DeCarlo is a member of the Hartford Workforce Leaders Academy, Class of 2017-18, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
