Sharon Block is the Executive Director of the Labor and Worklife Program at Harvard Law School, which is Harvard’s forum for research, teaching and policy development on the world of work and its implications for society. She also is a lecturer at Harvard Law School. Prior to coming to Harvard Law School in 2017, she was the head of the policy office at the U.S. Department of Labor and Senior Counselor to the Secretary of Labor. In 2012 she was appointed to serve as a member of the NLRB by President Obama. She also served in the White House, leading the historic White House Summit on Worker Voice. Before the Obama Administration, she was senior labor and employment counsel to the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee under Senator Edward M. Kennedy. She is a senior contributor to OnLabor.org and writes frequently on labor and regulatory issues.

Sharon was a participant at the 2018 Economic Security Summit, which was held July 9-12, 2018, in Aspen, Colorado.
