Shaylyn Romney Garret is a writer whose work includes the uniquely revealing portraits of religious communities across America published in Robert D. Putnam’s award-winning book, American Grace: How Religion Unites and Divides Us. She is currently co-authoring a second book with Putnam, a leading public intellectual who has been dubbed America’s “poet laureate of civil society.” Shaylyn has also had a successful career as a social entrepreneur, cofounding Think Unlimited, a social venture working to catalyze creativity and innovation in the Middle East. She has worked in partnership with Queen Rania of Jordan, and is a recipient of the Draper Richards Kaplan Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship. Shaylyn holds a BA in Government from Harvard University, and is a returned Peace Corps volunteer. She lives in Utah with her husband and daughter.
