Stephanie Avila is a Sophomore English major in the Honors Living Learning Community at Rutgers University. She double minors in Graphic Design and Social Justice, and volunteers at Upward Bound as a co-instructor, as well as The Braven Accelerator as a cohort mentor. After a childhood spent in Paterson New Jersey, Stephanie followed her love for urban America to Rutgers at their Newark campus to continue her studies. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, she aims to earn her Masters of Fine Arts in poetry, and enter the publishing field shortly after. Her highest ambition is to elevate oppressed voices through publishing and expose readers to viewpoints they have never experienced before. Stephanie loves to consume all types of art, making concert halls, museums, and theaters some of her favorite places to spend her time.
