Tiffany Day is the systems change & policy analyst at Ascend at the Aspen Institute. The Aspen Institute’s mission is to foster leadership based on enduring values and to provide a nonpartisan venue for dealing with critical issues. Ascend is a policy program of the Institute and a hub for breakthrough ideas and collaborations that move children and their parents toward educational success and economic security. In this role, Day partners with key states, counties, communities, agencies, and families to further develop and advance a systems change and policy agenda that promotes equitable opportunities for children and families. In addition, Day provides technical assistance to diverse groups of leaders and policymakers to identify and share best and emerging practices within the 2Gen field.
Prior to joining the Ascend team, Day served for seven years in the Tennessee Department of Human Services as the state’s 2Gen consultant, where she helped lead its 2G for Tennessee! two-generation strategy, managing the department’s $20M+ 2Gen investment portfolio and working with various state and community-based agencies to develop and implement 2Gen approaches. In this multi-disciplinary role, Day also coordinated inter/intradepartmental collaborations for improved service coordination and delivery; managed the Department’s annual performance plan under Customer Focused Government as liaison to the Governor’s office; managed leadership institutes to promote organizational change and capacity building; and conducted research and planning on various topics, including but not limited to, early childhood development/quality child care, poverty reduction, and anti-human sex trafficking efforts.
