Timothy Mason is Assistant Director for Energy & Mitigation Policy at the Aspen Institute Energy & Environment Program, where he leads high-level, nonpartisan forums which bring together top experts from industry, government, academia, and non-profits for not-for-attribution conversations about key issues in the energy system broadly, and combatting the climate crisis in particular. The forums seek to build relationships and broaden possibilities for a cleaner and more equitable energy future. Sessions are designed to encourage intellectual breakthroughs, dissenting opinions, and candid discussion to inform perspectives, thereby affording participants an “over the horizon” view of critical and emerging issues, enhancing decision-making and catalyzing action.
Previously, Timothy was Associate Director of the Yale Center for Environmental Law & Policy, a joint undertaking of Yale Law School and the Yale School of the Environment. Before joining Yale, Timothy worked in legislative politics and political campaigns. A Florida native, he is a graduate of the University of Florida Law School, and studied international relations at the University of Central Florida, where he was a Florida Gubernatorial Fellow.
