Andreas Haupt is a Ph.D. Candidate in Engineering-Economic Systems at the CS and AI Laboratory and the College of Computing, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He studies algorithmic accountability in an economic context, by combining real-world data with economic theory and computation to improve how algorithms interact with their users. He is the President of the MIT Science Policy Initiative and The AI Ethics&Policy group. Previously, he has worked at the European Commission, the German national parliament (the Bundestag), and a vocational school in central Germany.
