Carl Ayers is the Deputy Commissioner of Human Services for the Virginia Department of Social Services. In this role, he oversees the Division of Family Services which includes all child welfare related programs and the Division of Benefit Programs which includes Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, LIHEAP and ChildCare. Carl has nearly 30 years of experience in the Human Services field and has held numerous leadership positions at the local, state and national level including his current role of Board Chair for the Child Welfare League of America.
