Christoph Abels is a PhD student at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, focusing on how deep fakes, fake news and disinformation and impact democracy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Hagen and a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School.
Christoph’s professional experience spans from positions at various Berlin start-ups to consultancy work, having worked at Rocket Internet, Ketchum Pleon and Hering Schuppener. He is also board member at Polis180, a Berlin-based grassroots-think tank for foreign and European affairs, and co-leads the think tank’s digital transformation and cybersecurity programme.
