After two years in the communication department of the Berlin-based Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP), Ilja has recently joined the Ranking Digital Rights project at the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG), where he is prototyping and implementing technical solutions.
Before turning to Computer Science, Ilja studied Communication Studies and Political Science at FU Berlin and the University of Leeds. After his thesis on the ontology of Big Data, Ilja followed his passion for data-driven research, coding, and open science, and is currently finishing his Master’s degree in Computational Social Science.
