Martin Abel is a Public Affairs Specialist, currently representing the NRW.BANK (state development bank of the NRW-region) in Düsseldorf and Berlin. He served one term as member of state parliament and was spokesperson in the committee of budget and finance. He successfully introduced a bipartisan bill that set rules for divesting the public pension fonds of NRW. Further on, Martin is strongly committed to the transatlantic dialogue and is member of various organizations supporting the transatlantic partnership, like the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and the AmerikaHaus NRW. He participated in the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) from the U.S. Department of State and in several delegation trips to the US and Europe, with the key objective economy and digitalization.
