Tim Hatem El-Hady is the managing director of the Middle East Leadership Initiative (MELI) at the Aspen Institute. In his current role, Tim is responsible for supporting MELI Fellows with their ventures, capturing the impact they make, and raising capital to grow the number of Fellows from the region. Previously, Tim served as vice principal and COO of The University College of Estate Management (UCEM), a UK degree awarding online university with students in more than one hundred countries. In that capacity, Tim was responsible for all commercial and business operations of UCEM and led their marketing, enterprise business development, UK government apprenticeship scheme, international development, and technical services departments. Prior to this, Tim was the director of business planning and operations for Microsoft where he was responsible for growth strategy of Microsoft’s business in the UK. Tim held several roles during his thirteen-year tenure at Microsoft including global and regional roles, and he has earned several prestigious awards in the company. Before Microsoft, Tim worked at Oracle China, where he built and led their change management practice. Tim is a Fellow of the Middle East Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
