Leaders must act in spaces of constant complexity and ambiguity, bearing the competing responsibilities of honoring their organizations, their employees, their communities, and themselves. This continual tension means that the most difficult leadership decisions we face aren’t usually purely economic or technical; instead our decisions are expressions of values, and it’s important to know where those values originate and how we express them.
