The Action Forum will convene virtually from August 22 to August 28. As you confront the Fierce Urgency of Now brought on by compounding crises across the globe.
More than 500 Aspen Global Leadership Network Fellows and other distinguished leaders from our trusted partners are – for the first time ever – gathering virtually to pause, reflect, and recommit to using their talents to make a dent in the universe. The theme of this year’s Action Forum is “The Fierce Urgency of Now: Uncomfortable Leadership” and will focus on what it takes to confront the compounding crises we are all facing and take courageous action to meet the moment.
This year we come together to respond to the unprecedented time in which we live and convene more global leaders than ever before. Participants will learn from each other, form new relationships, work together to think through complex challenges, and take action by making Action Pledges. To tune into this week’s program, check out the Livestream schedule. You can also look out for recaps on the Aspen Institute website, and follow @AspenAction on Twitter and @AspenAGLN on Instagram to see pledges and updates from the Action Forum all week!

“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
Our modern world sits on the precipice of significant change. Citizens across the globe are challenging racial and economic injustices. Communities are grappling with the effects of a virus not yet controlled. The planet and humankind are renegotiating their relationship. Business is rethinking its mandate. Technology is revealing both possibility and peril. People around the world are reconsidering truth in an era of disputed facts. What is the fierce call to action you hear? Is it shaking you from apathy, complacency or confusion? How might we, collectively, confront the fierce urgency of now?
It is time to get uncomfortable. Now is the time to ask the hard questions and take courageous action. To realize the promise of leadership, we invite you to come together with other high-integrity, action-oriented Fellows to reflect and recommit to action.
