Winter Words – Michael Lewis

Literary fiction, investigative journalism, cultural reflection, poetry … Winter Words 2015 has it all. This year’s series features some of the most heralded and innovative writers of our time. Please join us at Paepcke auditorium for five evenings of readings, musings, and conversations designed to challenge, surprise and delight.

Michael Lewis is the author of the bestsellers “Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt”, “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game”, and “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game”, among other books. After graduating from Princeton University and the London School of Economics, Lewis worked on the bond desk at Salomon Brothers, an experience he recounted in “Liar’s Poker”, his first book. He left the financial world to become a journalist, writing on politics, finance and more for the New Republic, the New York Times Magazine, Slate and other publications. He is a contributing editor at Vanity Fair and columnist at Bloomberg View. Lewis is also the author of “The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine”, “Home Game: An Accidental Guide to Fatherhood” and “The New New Thing”. Two of his books, “The Blind Side” and “Moneyball”, were adapted into Academy Award-nominated films.

“When it comes to narrative skill, a reporter’s curiosity and an uncanny instinct for the pulse of the zeitgeist, Lewis is a triple threat.” — James B. Stewart, The New York Times

“Michael Lewis knows how to tell a story.” — Vanity Fair
