This updated report shares expanded findings on the quality of jobs created by microbusiness program clients. Based on in-depth interviews with 104 microbusiness workers, the report shares worker stories to illustrate the extent to which their jobs provided key elements of a quality job, including: good wages, benefits, stable schedules, opportunities to develop skills, and exposure to business ownership. Updates include an expanded section on “creating opportunity”—focused on the experiences of workers who struggle most to find good job options in the labor force—and a new analysis that explores how millennial workers are using microbusiness employment as a launching pad to the next phase in their careers.
