Chris Howard writes:  “It is hard to believe I am in year four as president of Hampden-Sydney College.  I like to say I am now a “senior”!  I recently joined the Board of Regents at Baylor University and yes, we do more than produce great NFL quarterbacks like Robert Griffin III (though we are proud he is an alumnus).  I also joined the board of the George and Carol Olmsted Foundation providing intensive language and cultural competency immersion, training and education for military officers.  Perhaps most importantly, I retired from the US Air Force Reserve after 21 years of service.” Read more about Chris’ retirement here.

Lance Drummond sent the following note:  “Lance and Hope are now living in Toronto, Canada since Lance accepted a job with Toronto Dominion Trust, December 2011, as Executive Vice President, Operations and Technology.  Lance is enjoying his new role, not the winter, but is grateful that his travel has decreased a lot.  He thinks this is his final job, but I am sure Hope has something to say about that.  They still maintain their home in Charlotte where their son, Alexander, lives.  Alexander has started his own company – ReQuestz Systems LLC. He is developing Mobile Apps targeting the entertainment and nightclub scene.  One feature of the App allows patrons to send request to DJs through your cell phone.  It is quite exciting and reflects a lot about his personality and creativity.  Audrei remains in Seattle and is considering graduate school at the University of Washington majoring in Computer Science.  She still works for Microsoft and was recently assigned to another project which she loves, but keeps her extremely busy.  Her long-term goal sees her back in the East Coast.  Hope continues in her role as Chief Home Officer managing the Drummond Household Company.  Her latest kick is to plan destination marathons, although she is only running half marathons.  Last October she traveled to Venice with her sister to run, and upon her return ran the half marathon in Hamilton, Ontario. Lance and Hope spend a lot of time together and get to travel more now with the children both graduated from college and basically on their own.  They plan a trip to Mexico City at the end of February and then to Cancun for some well-deserved rest.  They are also planning on their annual trip to New York City in March with the University of Rochester when they hope to see the Broadway Musical, Newsies.  Everyone has an open invitation to visit, whether it is Toronto or Charlotte.  Have a wonderful 2013!!!”
