Key Points

The Aspen Institute is looking for social media ambassadors to attend the Institute’s Summit on Inequality and Opportunity in Washington, DC on March 8, 2018.

Understanding systemic inequality is critical to being an effective change-maker and policy advocate. As the workforce and technology rapidly change, there is continued need for meaningful dialogue around increasing access and unlocking opportunity for all Americans to build a better life. At the Aspen Institute’s Summit on Inequality and Opportunity, policymakers, civic leaders, social entrepreneurs, and more will meet to discuss the widening opportunity gap in the US and exchange ideas to catalyze action.

As a social media ambassador, you will share opinions, observations, and exclusive previews with your social audience using the hashtag #AspenOpportunity. You will get free entrance, priority seating, and opportunities for behind-the-scenes access to engage with speakers and attendees.

The Summit will feature speakers such as Alondra Nelson, Amanda Ripley, Reverend Dr. Liz Theoharis, Antwan Wilson, and more.

Being a social media ambassador is a great opportunity to share the key messages of the day with a larger audience and to foster meaningful dialogue about inequality in online spaces. The ideal ambassador will:

  • Have a large following on one or multiple social media platforms
  • Possess a strong passion for addressing inequality and creating positive change
  • Demonstrate a keen eye for creative digital storytelling
