Aspire Teacher Expert System

January 19, 2011  • Education Innovation Forum and Expo

Recently named one of the most improved school systems in the world by McKinsey & Company, Aspire Public Schools bases much of its success on its team’s use of data. Aspire recently completed a two year effort to integrate data across its system and launched a Teacher Data Portal that provides teachers with live interactive visualizations that help them make data-driven decisions in the classroom.

Now we are focusing on leveraging technology to expand the work our best coaches and principals are doing helping teachers become master educators. Currently, our teacher development is fueled by the wisdom and experience of our best people, and is therefore not scalable. With the right technology tools, however, we can systematize, replicate, and improve our successful teacher development.

Aspire is in a unique position to successfully develop and launch a Teacher Expert System. Aspire has built a technology team that is a national model for how to use technology to solve real-world problems for K-12 schools. Even more importantly, our teachers and educational leaders have shown an amazing willingness to embrace technology in their work. We know technology can be a lever for dramatically accelerating our success, and we are eager to put it to work on our most important problem: making sure every student at Aspire has a phenomenal teacher who can put them on the path to college graduation.

Visit our booth to use our Teacher Data Portal and share your ideas for leveraging technology.
