Lisa Mensah Delivers Remarks to the Asset Funders Network

On October 3 , 2013, Lisa Mensah, Founder and Director of the Aspen Institute’s Initiative on Financial Security (Aspen IFS) delivered remarks at the Asset Funders Network (AFN) 2013 Grantmaker Conference, “Access, Opportunity and Mobility: Strategies That Move Families Forward.” The conference featured a series of in-depth conversations on the grant-making strategies needed to help protect, rebuild, and grow the assets and wealth of low–income families.

Mensah participated in a discussion on “Exploring Policy and Practical Solutions: Where Do We Go From Here?” The discussion featured comments from asset-building leaders who are working to address the wealth gap through concrete asset policy and practical solutions at the federal, state, and national levels.  Moderated by Amanda Feinstein, Walter & Elise Haas Fund, the panel also featured Don Baylor, Center for Public Policy Priorities; Noel Poyo, National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders; and Bob Friedman, CFED.
