Lisa Mensah Discusses the Tax Reform and Retirement Savings Incentives

On February 26, 2013 the Corporation for Enterprise Development (CFED) hosted a discussion in Washington D.C. entitled “Can America Save Itself?”

Andrea Levere, President of CFED, moderated the keynote panel on tax reform, savings, and financial security which featured Representative Richard Neal (D-MA); Representative Jim Gerlach (R-PA); and Jonathan Mintz, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.

Bob Friedman, Founder of CFED moderated a panel of experts featuring Lisa Mensah, Executive Director of the Aspen Institute Initiative on Financial Security; Reid Cramer, Director of the Asset Building Program at the New America Foundation; Pamela Everhart, Senior Vice President of Benefit Policy Development and Thought Leadership at Fidelity Investments; and David John, Senior Research Fellow in Retirement Security and Financial Institutions at The Heritage Foundation.

Discussion was focused around a potential push on tax reform and household savings.  This event hosted top experts on savings and financial security to convene on the critical role of tax policy on the future of American nest eggs.
