Ten days before the State of the Union Address to the Congress, the Aspen Institute’s own Congressional insider gives us his insights. 

Mickey Edwards, now director of the Institute’s Rodel Fellowships in Public Leadership, was a leading Congressman from Oklahoma for 16 years (1977-1992).  Mickey served on the powerful Budget and Appropriations committees, and became a member of the House Republican leadership.

Author of the recent highly-praised book Reclaiming Conservatism (Oxford University Press), Mickey is also a lecturer at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
