Aspen Young Leaders Fellowship: Newark Session I
The Aspen Young Leaders Fellowship (AYLF), a place-based, multi-site initiative that will develop the next generation of local, purpose-driven community leaders, is partnering with Rutgers University-Newark and Newark Public Schools to help enable 20 Newark youth to be change-makers in their communities.
The first session of AYLF Newark programming will convene Fellows over two days on the campus of Rutgers University-Newark. Fellows will unpack leadership strategies including those of the framers of the Constitutions, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Mahatma Gandhi. The Newark cohort of AYLF Fellows will meet over the next two years to build the skills necessary to engage effectively with their communities. The Fellowship will culminate with Fellows embarking upon social venture projects to solve critical issues facing the Newark community.
