Citizen Artists: Engaging Through the Arts
Join Yo-Yo Ma, one of the great musicians of our time and the Judson and Joyce Green Creative Consultant for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and acclaimed dancer and Aspen Institute Arts Program director Damian Woetzel, along with special guests as they discuss and demonstrate Citizen Artistry in policy and practice on the Kaye Playhouse stage. This event highlights the impact and importance of the cultural work artists do when they identify and respond to need, strengthening communities by bringing their artistry to fields including education, diplomacy, and healthcare.
This evening celebration is the culminating event of the Aspen Arts Strategy Group, which on October 2 and 3 brings together prominent arts leaders, advocates, institutions, and practitioners to lay the groundwork for national Citizen Artist efforts.
