Visually Reimagining History: A Conversation with Dawoud Bey

Join Andrew W. Mellon Professor at the National Gallery of Art’s Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, Steven Nelson, in conversation with photographer and educator Dawoud Bey. A 2017 MacArthur “Genius” Award recipient, Bey’s work has been exhibited worldwide and is included in the permanent collections of over fifty museums throughout the United States and Europe. His current exhibit at the National Gallery of Art is Dawoud Bey: The Birmingham Project and his most recent work is the Underground Railroad inspired, Night Coming Tenderly, Black.
