Mercedes T. Bass Lecture & Public Open House: Leonardo da Vinci and his Genius
Featuring remarks by Aspen Institute President and CEO Walter Isaacson, and author of the forthcoming book, Leonardo da Vinci, to be released on October 17, 2017. Following on his bestselling biographies of Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs, Walter’s new work is a study of ‘history’s most creative genius,’ Leonardo da Vinci.
Guests experienced da Vinci’s genius from the Doerr-Hosier Center through his Machines Exhibition which showcased dozens of replicas of his creations, including his studies in nature, anatomy, mechanics, flights, and robotics; as well as a presentation of the Da Vinci Science Center’s Il Cavallo—Leonardo’s famous and unfinished horse sculpture. In addition, the da Vinci Experience featured an unprecedented immersive multimedia show that recounted Leonardo’s genius, his science, and his eclecticism, and took place in the Resnick-Malek Health Center.
