Leadership and Character Seminar, October 12-15, 2017
What is character? How is it developed? What are the internal resources that contribute to values-based leadership? How do we cultivate, share, and support a leadership culture which emphasizes character?
The Leadership and Character Seminar is a four-day, intensive leadership development program especially designed for professionals in leadership positions from across the world. At the Seminar, participants will probe the internal context of making leadership decisions and exploring the competing tensions that form our moral compass; topics include moral courage, ego, work-life balance, and vision. Participants will emerge personally renewed, professionally re-focused, and better prepared to lead as they confront the difficult choices of our ever-changing world.
We believe that the most effective leadership begins with self-leadership, and that leaders need time and space away from the urgent to reflect, in the company of diverse and inquiring peers, on what is most essential. Our unique, humanities-based approach to leadership development uses a variety of classic and contemporary philosophical and literary texts as the basis for intensive, interactive roundtable discussions led by skilled moderators in small groups of 15-20 participants.
