McCloskey Speaker Series: US Air Force’s Role in US Security with Air Force Chief of Staff Mark A. Welsh III
The McCloskey Speaker Series is a longstanding summer series of wide-ranging discussions on US public affairs issues such as leadership and decision-making, the strength of the national economy and more. Featuring distinguished speakers who have far-reaching impacts on society, the series is made possible by a generous donation from the McCloskey Family Charitable Foundation.
In collaboration with the Aspen Security Forum, this discussion on the role the Air Force plays in national security will feature US Air Force Chief of Staff, Gen. Mark A. Welsh III. Welsh serves as the senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization, training, and equipping of 690,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve, and civilian forces serving in the US and overseas. As a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the general and other service chiefs function as military advisers to the secretary of Defense, National Security Council, and to the president.
The event will be held in the Greenwald Pavilion at the Aspen Meadows campus in Colorado from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Tickets to the event can be purchased for $20 each starting July 3rd at www.aspenshowtix.com.
