Meet Writer in Residence Samyak Shertok
Samyak Shertok, is originally from Nepal, his honors include an Aspen Words Emerging Writer Fellowship in Poetry, a Northern Greece International Fellowship, the Bondurant Prizes for Poetry and Fiction, and a Best New Poets nomination. His poems appear or are forthcoming in The Cincinnati Review, “Waxwing, House of Snow: An Anthology of the Greatest Writing About Nepal,” The Kathmandu Post, La.lit,and elsewhere. A recipient of scholarships and fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center, the Tebot Bach Foundation and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, he recently performed his poetry at TEDxUniveristyOfMississippi. Samyak was a 2018 Aspen Words Emerging Writer Scholarship recipient.
