Metrics from the Ground Up
The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) is excited to present the 10th Edition of Metrics from the Ground Up. This two-day event brings together leading practitioners in the SGB sector with research and evaluation experts to share insights and address common challenges in impact measurement.
In 2009, ANDE hosted the first Metrics from the Ground Up conference in partnership with Grassroots Business Fund. The goal was to have an open and frank discussion about current tools and approaches in the field of impact measurement, and to leave with a better understanding of how to apply these tools in an effective way.
In 2009, industry initiatives were just emerging. Despite the growth of the sector, many of the conversations from a decade ago seem to be repeating themselves. How do we use client feedback? How can we align the data needs of entrepreneurs and funders? How can impact measurement create business value? How much rigor do we need, and what is “good enough” measurement?
Recently we have seen increasing urgency to improve the rigor, relevance, and responsiveness of impact measurement. This year we will take stock of how far the field has come, and where we need to continue to grow as a community.
