How do you preserve a legacy? How do you make it thrive? For over a decade, August Wilson’s landmark ten-play Century Cycle has been the basis for not only award-winning productions and adaptations but an inspirational competition for young people across the nation. Two monologue competition participants – an 18-year old student and a 20-year old Tony-nominated actress – joined a Wilson scholar and one of the author’s collaborators – and voiced their connection to iconic playwright August Wilson and the importance of the legacy his work.
