“Palestinian Public Opinion: Peace, Politics, and Policy”

On October 29th, the Middle East Strategy Group and the International Peace Institute, co-hosted a rountable discussion entitled “Palestinian Public Opinion: Peace, Politics and Policy.” Craig Charney, survey pollster and President of Charney Research, presented his findings on current Palestininian public opinion. Charney analyzed attitudes towards political parties, living conditions, foreign affairs and resistence. The poll draws from interviews from 2,402 randomly selected Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. It aims to present a local perspective into the continuing discussion on the peace process, daily life for Palestinians, and potential policy options for President Obama’s administration. Analysis was provided by the Council of Foreign Relations, Hasib J. Sabbagh Senior Fellow Steven Cook and Nur Laiq of the International Peace Institute.
