Panel Discussion with the 2018 CNAY Champions for Change
The Champions for Change know what it means to accept the call to leadership. These five Native American youth each lead by inspiring other young people to take action, while demonstrating a deep commitment and accountability to their tribal communities. Join us in celebrating their efforts and learning what young Native leaders need to build strong futures for tribal communities.
The Center for Native American Youth will host a panel discussion on February 13 from 12:00-1:30 pm in Washington, DC, where we’ll hear the stories that moved these extraordinary leaders to address some of the most pressing issues in Indian Country. Moderated by 2017 Champion alum Nancy Deere-Turney (Muscogee Creek), and Vice Chairman of the Tohono O’odham Nation, Verlon Jose, the panel will explore what it means to be an engaged tribal citizen working to create change in tribal communities and beyond. The panel will include opening remarks from CNAY Founder and former Senator Byron Dorgan. Learn more about the speakers here.
