Moderated by Alan Fletcher, AMFS President and CEO, with Steven Stucky, composer, and Jeremy Denk, librettist, discussing their opera: “The Classical Style: An Opera (of Sorts),” based on the widely acclaimed work by the late Charles Rosen.

The program will focus on the free-ranging tale of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven’s return to earth amidst reports of the decline of classical music. Joined by Ed Berkeley, Director of the Aspen Opera Theater Center, and Robert Spano, AMFS Music Director, the conversation will explore the achievement of the classical composers and the future of opera.
