SOF Symposium – What Does It Mean to be American?: The Roots of the Immigration Debate

This event is for Society of Fellows supporters only. This timely symposium will delve deeply into the trends, policy, and implications of the immigration debate. Over the course of three charged days, participants will explore the history, trends, and policies of U.S. immigration; the tension of state and federal actions; the implications of globalization and integration; and citizenship and American identity. The program, spanning three morning sessions, will feature readings, lecture, Q&A, and moderated discussion. Join us for a deep dive into one of the most critical issues of our time. Co-moderated by Audrey Singer, Senior Fellow, Metropolitan Policy Program at Brookings Institution; and Roberto Suro, Professor of Journalism and Public Policy, USC Annenberg. Opening reception followed by three half-day sessions. Limit 35 participants.
