Youth Commission on Social, Emotional, & Academic Development Working Session III
On Saturday, May 13, at the National 4-H Conference Center on Chevy Chase, MD, the Youth Commission on Social, Emotional, and Academic Development will convene for their third working session to continue exploring the current state of research, practice, and policy around the role of schools in social and emotional learning.
Chancellor of District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) Antwan Wilson will join Youth Commissioners for an interactive Q&A on education policy and governance. Chancellor Wilson’s remarks will be followed by a working lunch panel discussion featuring DCPS central administrators, principals, and teachers.
For the remainder of the working session, Youth Commissioners will be led through exercises on how to frame recommendations and caught up on the work of the National Commission on Social, Emotional, and Academic Development.
