Partners for a New Beginning Leads Angel Investor Delegation to Jordan
Delegates meet with Jordanian entrepreneurs, investors, and government partners

Amman, November 9, 2012 –– The Partners for a New Beginning (PNB) Secretariat at the Aspen Institute is leading a delegation of angel investors to Jordan from November 8th – 12th. The delegation of 20 investors and entrepreneurs will encourage investment in the country’s emerging SME market.

While Amman is increasingly becoming home to a growing number of internet start-ups, Jordan and the region as a whole have yet to build a sustainable ecosystem for angel investment. The PNB Angel Investment Delegation to Jordan will give potential investors the opportunity to explore investment opportunities in a fast-growing market and to mentor young entrepreneurs who are running high-quality, early-stage companies. Delegates are meeting with Jordanian business leaders and investors to discuss ways to support Jordan’s angel investment ecosystem.

The delegates are comprised of angel investors and serial tech entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley, Seattle, Boulder, New York City, and Washington DC.

A rigorous schedule of networking, mentoring and training sessions will be led by a wide range of Jordanian partners including Oasis500, Endeavor and Wamda. The delegates will meet with other PNB partners including Acceleration Technology Holdings (ATH), Intaj, and Injaz Al Arab.

The delegation will go on a start-up tour of Amman where they will meet with the pioneers of the Arab online content world. Activities for the delegation include kite-flying with entrepreneurs and visits to the Dead Sea and Petra. They are also attending an Angel Event hosted by Oasis500 and will meet with HM King Abdullah II to discuss Jordan’s ICT sector.

On November 10th, the United States Embassy in Amman will host a reception with delegates, investors, business leaders, and other PNB Jordan partners.
