Low-income Americans have the semblance of a safety net stitched together by federal government programs — albeit a frayed one. But after attending The Aspen Institute 2016 Economic Security Summit: Reconnecting Work & Wealth in Aspen, Colo., last week, I’ve concluded that it’s now time for a safety net for the American workforce.
