UpSkill America is an employer-led movement to expand opportunity for America’s workers and allow our economy and communities to thrive. As part of our mission to advance the upskilling movement, we are pleased to share the following news featuring one of our partners.

Whole Foods Market has just unveiled a new concept called 365 by Whole Foods, smaller than a typical Whole Foods Market. In order to effectively hire a cadre of enthusiastic associates, 365 by Whole Foods engaged LearnUp, which will help screen applicants and offer them the opportunity to train for the job online prior to being hired. Going through the training period triples the chances a candidate will be hired since they are now much more qualified to do the job. This pre-training enables an employer to identify much higher qualified candidates for each position.
“Through the partnership with LearnUp, we should become more efficient,” said Jeff Turnas, President of 365 by Whole Foods. “80-85% of the leadership of our company worked in a store. The entry-level team member is very important at Whole Foods. They will be our future leaders.”

We are delighted with Whole Foods’ decision and commend them for joining a growing list of companies committed to advancing the upskilling movement.
