Carner Derron leads marketing and communications for Aspen Digital, which works at the intersection of technology, media, and the internet with a particular focus on equity. She leads the program’s strategy and implementation across all channels, from social media, to web presence, to reporter engagement. As part of this role, Carner manages the program’s informal community of more than 100 nonprofit and academic representatives from the cyber policy field, the Cybersecurity Collaborative Network.
Bringing expertise in brand development, thought leadership, and media relations, Carner joined the Aspen Institute in 2020 and has a background in social impact marketing and communications. Most recently, she supported major nonprofits and corporations at the global firm Weber Shandwick. Prior to that, she worked at the DC-based agency Little Unicorns.
Carner earned a BA in History from Vassar College, with minors in Art History and Chinese Language. She is passionate about serving the common good and brings an energetic spirit and deep curiosity to her work.
