As the University of Arizona’s Regional Manager for Maricopa County, Kimberly Hanes oversees the operations, academic programs, student services, and community partnerships for the University’s Chandler, Gilbert, and North Valley campuses. In her role, Kimberly is responsible for amplifying UArizona’s local presence by implementing a cohesive growth strategy for Maricopa County. Prior to joining UArizona, Kimberly led education-to-workforce efforts for the Greater Phoenix Chamber, where she developed and scaled employer-validated initiatives that prepared individuals for high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand occupations. Of note is her leadership in launching ElevateEdAZ, the Chamber’s first education strategy. Kimberly was a 2020 Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Fellow and a graduate of the 2018 U.S Chamber of Commerce Talent Pipeline Academy. Kimberly holds a Postgraduate Professional Teaching License and is a proud recipient of both the Congressional Service Award and Presidential Volunteer Service Award from her time in AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps. She has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Georgia Southern University and Master of Arts in Education from the College of William and Mary.
