Peter Valente is a project assistant at East-West Center. He is also an independent consultant for international development contracts. He coordinates the Asia Pacific Bulletin and articles for the Asia Matters for America website. Mr. Valente has published writing on peace and security issues within the Asia Pacific region as well as public diplomacy between the United States and Asia. He draws on extensive experience living and working in Asia, having spent stints of between four months and a year each in Japan, the Federated States of Micronesia, India, and Malaysia. Participated in the Aspen Security Forum.
