Ann has over 15 years of experience in Community Development in the city of Detroit. Ann was most recently the Director of Community Development for Wayne County, where she worked on Community Development programming for the local units of government in Wayne County, focusing on Housing and Urban Development Federal funding. In that role, Ann developed a pilot program focusing on workforce opportunities that aligned with current blight and development opportunities. In her current role, she is the Assistant Vice President of Youth Services with SER Metro-Detroit. In this role, she manages programs that assist young adults in gaining access to employment, while simultaneously addressing other basic needs that may be a barrier to their success. YouthBuild, Year Round Youth, and the City of Detroit’s youth reintegration center are primary focuses of this work. Ann received her master’s in Community Development from the University of Detroit Mercy and is a proud mother of two little boys.
Ann Leen is a member of the Detroit Workforce System Leadership Development Academy Class of 2017, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
