Clarence L. Hayes, Ph.D. is a native of the Mississippi Delta and holds a degree from Mississippi Valley State University in Public Administration and is a graduate of Jackson State University where he earned a Master’s of Science degree in Guidance and Counseling and a Doctorate in Urban Higher Education. Dr. Hayes has over 23 years of experience in education. His past work experiences included an Admissions Advisor and Recruiter at Jackson State University, Jackson, MS an academic advisor at Hinds Community College Raymond, MS, Graduation Coach at Clarksdale High School, Clarksdale, MS. Director of Admission and Recruitment at Grambling State University, Grambling, LA, Assistant Principal and Principal at Clarksdale High School, and Principal at J. W. Stampley Freshman Academy, Clarksdale, MS. Currently, he serves as Director of Student Support Services at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas in Helena-West Helena, AR. Most notably, Dr. Hayes helped students at Clarksdale High School earn over $1.5 Million in scholarships in one academic year and implemented strategies to increase the Clarksdale High School Graduate rate by 20%.
