Mother, daughter, lover, feminist, Latina woman, diversity trainer, actress, friend of four-footed creatures, woman committed to justice for all… Georgie currently serves as the Associate Vice President (AVP) for the Division of Mission and Ministry at DePaul University in Chicago. Georgie’s primary focus as AVP for Mission and Values is to engage the entire community in a deeper understanding of DePaul’s Catholic and Vincentian identities with particular attention to student engagement. She has worked as a consultant to various institutions, programs and organizations to conduct assessments, facilitate training programs, design and implement programming on issues of diversity, social justice, advocacy, education and leadership. Georgie’s educational background in diversity, facilitation, ministry, theatre and counseling has led her to her current work as an educator, consultant, mentor, and promoter of dialogue. Her dedication to issues of justice and anti-oppression stems from her desire to acknowledge and respect the dignity of all people. Georgie happily oversees the Torres Reyes Circus that consists of her brain child, Catalina (19), her heart child, Victor (17), her joy child, Isabela (16), and her puppy, Leo, who currently plays the role of circus clown.
