Jose Patiño is a DACA recipient, former high school teacher, activist, and organizer. Jose is currently the Director of Education and External Affairs at Aliento, a local organization focusing on DACA recipients and undocumented youth. Jose leads Aliento’s Educated for Arizona’s Future campaign to grant instate tuition and publicly funded scholarships to undocumented & DACA students at Arizona’s public community colleges and universities. Jose is a board member for Student Learn Students Vote National Coalition, and chair of the Arizona Dreamers Scholarship Fund. Previously, Jose served on the Arizona Department of Education School Safety Taskforce, the City of Mesa 2020 Census Taskforce, and on the National DACA Advisory Board for Teach for America as the Chair of Advocacy Committee.
