Interim Executive Director, Public Programs & Aspen Ideas Festival

Interim Executive Director, Killeen Brettmann is responsible for the Aspen Ideas Festival, a week-long conference that is hosted annually each summer in Aspen.  Brettmann is primarily responsible for all commercial and business aspect of the festival and currently oversees all programing and production. Brettmann collaborates with numerous Institute divisions including communications, conference services and a myriad of policy program directors and media partner, NBCU News Group to produce the festival each year.

Prior to joining The Aspen Institute Brettmann held executive marketing positions with the Aspen Skiing Company and FIJI Water where she served as Vice President, Communications and Marketing, respectively.  She also founded her own marketing firm based in Aspen, CO, focusing on travel and tourism business.

Brettmann and her two teenage daughters reside in Aspen, CO, where they spend as much time as possible in the mountains, skiing, hiking and biking. She sits on the Aspen Community Foundation board and is a strong proponent of education and environmental causes.
