Solcyre Burga is a Peruvian-American who developed her passion for social justice through her attendance at the American Conference on Diversity. Partnering with other young women who share similar interests, Sol became a leader at her school’s Lead for Diversity club that especially focuses on expanding awareness of prejudice. Throughout her years at Saint Vincent Academy, Sol has also participated in several clubs ranging from Girl Up, Stand and Deliver, National Honor Society and even Glee Club. As an advocate for change, she plans on pursuing a business degree to develop her own non-profit dedicated to helping homeless and working-class families in the Newark area. Sol is currently a freshman at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ.
